The Motor City-based band has been holding it down for a minute now with fiery vinyl-only 45’s on Funk Night Recs, in addition to backing up everyone from Danny Brown, Mayer Hawthorne, Black Milk, and Dennis Coffey. Now with Mix Takes 3/4, the Detroit funksters complete what they started with 2012’s Mix Takes 1/2 with live covers of their favorite funk and soul jams seamlessly playedtogether onto two takes of continuous, unadulterated funk (about 18 min. per side). If you already heard Mix Takes 1/2 (which focused on their favorite hip-hop cuts), then you already know these cats don’t play! Pressed up on super-heavyweight vinyl with full pic sleeve.
