Debutfull length from The Crampsback on wax!The good folks at Drastic Plastic have gone ahead and repressed this influential psychobilly/punk classic on heavyweight 200 gram(!) vinyl, complete with a fresh remaster by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio. Originally released in 1980, Songs The Lord Taught Us isthe first proper album by The Cramps (following 1979’s 5 track EP Gravest Hits) giving us a full dose of thatrockabilly-punk-garage rock fusion. This particular album would be a crucial step in the development of the psychobilly style (especially Lux Interior’s howling on “Garbage Man”) and also includes the rockin’energy of “I Was A Teenage Werewolf,” the low key creep of “Fever,” the raucous “Sunglasses After Dark,” and many more. Even if you own an original, you’d be hard pressed to find a better sounding copy to rock out to. Limited edition of 1,500 with individually numbered jackets, housed in protective plastic sleeve. This is the version to own.
